Walleye
We got reports of some nice walleye being caught in the river upstream along with the whites and wipers. Roadrunners, mister twister, and doll flys. Green, Yellow, and White Best luck at fisherman's gate and the shale banks by Orleans. Look to find them in the west end of the lake also, where the water is warmer.

White Bass
The old fisherman tells me we'll find the bass in the river when the lilac bushes bloom, and he's right again this year. Nice White Bass and Wipers are being taken as far upstream as the bridge west of Orleans. Best luck on roadrunners, twister tails, and doll flys. Those who wade seem to lose less tackle. We should see the bass also run along the dam very soon. Usually there you use Mepps spinners

Catfish
Shad gizzards always work best early in the year, although they're hard to get this year. Jake reports good success on crawlers on the west end. Lots of cats being caught on the Hwy 183 fill, and in the river and the old Hwy on the south side. Also some nice cats brought in from Prairie Dog bay.

Large Mouth Bass
The guys fishing largemouth have been working crankbaits and rubber worms along the boat stalls and the breakwall in Gremlin with a little success. The timber in Patterson has also gave up some nice fish.

Crappie
It's spawning time and we should see some nice females in the shallower water with lots of cover. Problem is thats the shoreline of the entire lake! They're catching a few around the boat stalls, and on the rocks just before sundown. Small jigs or minnows.

Wiper
The Wipers are running upstream with the White Bass trying to spawn. Since they are a hybrid, they can't spawn but the instinct is still there to go. Roadrunners, twister tails, and doll flys work best. I saw a 14 1/2 pound fish lat Sunday. They should run for a week or so.
